About
Corinne Alexander

Born and raised in the Washington, DC area, Corinne’s interest in education began with their own love of school. Over the course of their experience in grade school, best practices for teachers and students have shifted, education policy has changed, and Corinne saw (and experienced) the ways inequitable access to education negatively impacted school communities. Corinne graduated in 2021 from Sarah Lawrence College with a BA in Liberal Arts and Sciences, concentrating in Psychology and Dance. They also received their MSEd from Sarah Lawrence’s Art of Teaching graduate program and became a certified teacher in 2022. Now working in education research, Corinne strives to positively influence education and create more opportunities for success, because they firmly believe schools should function as a place where students, teachers, and administrators can collaborate, explore inquiries, and reflect on those discoveries as a community, which stands on a foundation of equity and care in education.

In their spare time Corinne enjoys reading, knitting, watercolor painting, and creative writing. They are also a contemporary and ballet dancer and a volunteer administrative assistant with Grace Helping Hands, a local non-profit that provides hygiene kits to homeless women in Maryland and DC.
